Description
Roughly 3in.x2½in. Made in four hours. Crochet and larkshead knots, no-sew.
Mercerised cotton, embroidery thread, and unknown cord. The cord feels slightly rough and might be cotton or hemp; I don't exactly know since it came wrapped around a candle and wasn't labelled.
I might line the pouch in the future if the stitches start to stretch. Right now, it's unlined. I have a habit of making very tight stitches, so after an entire week of wearing it's still holding its shape so far. It may only need a bit of reinforcement where the cord is so the top edge stays straight when it's carrying heavier items.
The flap is stitched traditionally, and the pattern in the main portion is achieved by stitching continuously without changing direction. This causes the top inner edge to curl in on itself slightly when the piece is finished, which helps prevent the contents of the pouch from falling out. Passing the cord all the way across the inner edge also helps keep things inside. I haven't lost anything yet.
