This was the quick version out of the Fannie Farmer Cookbook, so there was no boiling of sugar. I would have made the "official" recipie, but I didn't have a pot sturdy enough for it. ^^;

Also, the almonds aren't ground nearly as fine as they should be - thank you, oh Stupid One who bought an infomercial blender. :roll:
I swear, once I can get my own kitchen appliances...

The chocolate sauce was a quick shortcut, too: Melt a handful of chocolate chips (semisweet) in the microwave, adding about a teaspoon of vanilla extract after the first 30 seconds (about halfway through). If the chocolate's drying and tightening, a little more vanilla extract can be stirred in.

Looks interesting, how was it? I've never had marzipan before.

Eh, it's got a fuller taste than the storebought, but... wait, never had it? O.o WHAT?!

Dude, go get some! It's basically almond paste and buttloads of powdered sugar. I'm not sure what to compare it to... This batch tastes pretty good, but I leave mine un-chocolated.

Look for it in your local supermarket! It might be by the bagged candies, like KitKats and stuff, or if there's a foreign-foods section, it'll be with German or Hungarian items.

:giggle: More than half a bar, yeah, you'll be past bouncing off the walls. like, y'know how bread has to be kneaded with a lot of flour until it's workable? That's how it goes with the marzipan and powdered sugar.

:jawdrop: How is it that so many people have gone this long without trying it? Dude! 'Tis good, but even better when fresh. The storebought kind tends to be bland, and overpowered by chocolate.

My my...I don't think I'd eat for the rest of the day!

It sounds like pecan pie, you have one slice and you're good for half the day.
